This New Year - Celebrate LIFE!

Life is a celebration.
Then why the need for excuses like the new year to celebrate??
New year is not an excuse but one of the most perfect of all reasons to celebrate. Though most cultures have their own New Year days that are celebrated in traditional ways, the New Year on the midnight of 31st December, as the date changes to January the 1st, is perhaps the most widely celebrated moment in the world!
It is a celebration that cuts across the boundaries of caste, culture, religion and nationality. It is perhaps the only moment in time that is recognized and celebrated by more than 7 billion people, and that itself is enough reason to celebrate.
Just imagine watching the whole episode from space - as each time zone strikes the zero hour, the people there erupt with joy, fireworks and shouts of happy new year producing a continuous round of celebrations for an entire day spanning 24 hours! How beautiful it would be to watch !!
The very fact that we are alive to see the advent of another year in this world full of uncertainities is a perfectly valid reason to party. It is not another year gone by from our short lives, but another year of trials and tribulation that we have successfully survived and are stronger and wiser because of it.
Not only is it a moment of new hopes and possibilities, it is a moment when we are actually stepping into the future, when the future begins to happen!
It is that time of the year when writing 2016 instead of 2015 will bring our dreams a year closer to fruition. In this moment of joy that heralds new beginnings, let us not forget our new year resolutions!

Some would say that resolutions are made to be broken. True, but even if they last a day, you would still have accomplished something! I say, why make resolutions that need to last a year, or a month? Resolve not to patch up your fight with your best friend. Resolve to call him, wish him a happy new year and invite him for lunch. Voila! Resolution completed in a few minutes and the result is still the much desired restoration of friendship.
So resolve to make at least three resolutions this year- one that is for you, one to help a relative or friend, and one to do something nice for someone who cannot do anything for you. You will get the most happiness by being able to put a smile on someone else’s face!
Be the sunshine of someone else’s life and the sun will never set on your own happiness.
May each day of the coming year be vibrant and bring along many reasons to celebrate and rejoice.
HAVE A FUN-FILLED, ROCKING, SMASHING AND HAPPENING NEW YEAR !
