Twenty-sixth Sunday in the Ordinary Time—Year C (September 29, 2019)

www.loinhapthe.com

A. Introduction

a) To the Holy Mass

Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ,
Good morning!
We celebrate this Sunday the 26th week in the Ordinary Time, liturgical year C, with the theme “How to deal wisely with earthly possessions?”
The message of Divine Word points out that all resources which we are granted by the Creator in this life should be at the use of everyone and at the service of God and neighbors.  The more we receive the better our sharing with one another is expected to be.
Money and power can be considered the acid test for an authentic disciple of Christ, no matter what status in the Christian community they may find themselves in.  The rich man in this Sunday’s parable failed that test because he refused to lend his less fortunate fellow man a helping hand regardless of the latter’s desperate conditions.
We pray for the strength of our will so as to be able to listen to the Word of God and put it into practice.
Please all stand for the entrance hymn.

b) To the Readings

-          First Reading (Am 6:1a. 4-7)

The Lord God knows man’s greedy, selfish, and evil thoughts and deeds which He will not let go without any accountability.

-          Second Reading (1 Tim 6:11-16)

Saint Paul urges his disciple Bishop Timothy to hold fast to the latter’s faith in Christ until the day he comes back in glory.  Then the reward of eternal life will not fail those who wait for the King of kings and Lord of lords.

Twenty-fifth Sunday in Ordinary Time—Year C (September 22, 2019)

A.        Introduction

a)         To the Holy Mass

Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ,
Good morning!
Welcome to Saint Dominic’s Parish Church for the celebration of the 25th Sunday in the Ordinary Time, Year C.
The Gospel message of this Sunday tells us how to deal wisely with matters that yield decisive consequences on our salvation the similar way we do with everyday activities for survival.
It is important above all to focus only on one problem, to aim only at one point, and to serve only one master.  We should choose to faithfully love and worship the Lord God and Him alone.  It is to Him that we owe our life both here on earth and there in heaven.
Let us all stand and sing the entrance hymn.

b)        To the Readings

-           First Reading Am 8:4-7

The Prophet Amos brings God’s message with stern warning to those who abuse the poor and less fortunate.  God, the Defender of the lowly, will not let those who committed crimes against the poor go without being punished.

-           Second Reading 1 Tim 2:1-8

It is so encouraging that Saint Paul teaches us the truth on God’s salvation plan for all people.  The proof for God’s immense goodness was demonstrated by Our Lord Jesus Christ Who, as the lone Mediator between God and humans, sacrificed His own life for us.

b) Responsorial Psalm: Ps 113:1-2, 4-6, 7-8 (see EM page 216)

R. Praise the Lord who lifts up the poor.
R. Nào ca ngợi danh thánh Chúa đi, Người cất nhắc những ai nghèo túng.

Praise, you servants of the LORD,
praise the name of the LORD.
Blessed be the name of the LORD
both now and forever.R.

High above all nations is the LORD;
above the heavens is his glory.
Who is like the LORD, our God, who is enthroned on high
and looks upon the heavens and the earth below?R.

He raises up the lowly from the dust;
from the dunghill he lifts up the poor
to seat them with princes,
with the princes of his own people.R.
Kẻ mọn hèn, Ngài kéo ra khỏi nơi cát bụi; ai nghẻo túng, Người cất nhắc từ chốn phân tro, đặt ngồi chung với hàng quyền quý, hàng quyền quý dân Người.R.

Twenty-fourth Sunday in Ordinary Time - Year C (September 15, 2019)

A. Introduction

a) To the Holy Mass

Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ,
Good morning!
Welcome to Saint Dominic’s Parish Church for the celebration of the 24th Sunday in the Ordinary Time, Year C.
The message of the Word of God that we are about to listen to tells us the truth that God is really a loving, merciful and forgiving Father.  No matter how many and how serious our sins are, God remains slow to anger and rich in mercy.
The only one requirement for us to be worthy of Divine Mercy and Pardon is that we need to repent of our sins and go back to our God and ask Him for forgiveness, “Father! Forgive me, for I have sinned against your love!”
Please all stand and join in the singing of the entrance hymn.

b) To the Readings

-          First Reading (Ex 32:7-11.13-14):

The Lord God, moved by the suffering of the people of Israel under slavery in Egypt, delivered them from the hands of their oppressors and led them to the Promised Land.  Against this great love and care, the people committed the grave sin of idolatry when they made a golden calf and worshipped it as their lord and savior.
When the people were about to be severely punished for their ingratitude, the great Prophet Moses appealed to God for mercy on those sinful children and his pleading prayer was granted.

-          Second Reading (1 Tim 1:12-17):

Saint Paul urges his disciple, Bishop Timothy, to be confident in God’s love and mercy manifested in the Lord Jesus Christ, Who forgave the former’s wrongdoing before his conversion to the Church.  This should be the very way of life for Christians to follow up in order to deserve eternal life.

b) Responsorial Psalm: Ps 51:3-4, 12-13, 17, 19 (see EM page 213)

R. I will rise and go to my father.
R. Tôi sẽ trỗi dậy và trở về với cha tôi.

Have mercy on me, O God, in your goodness;
in the greatness of your compassion wipe out my offense.
Thoroughly wash me from my guilt
and of my sin cleanse me. R.

Lạy Chúa, xin lấy lòng nhân hậu xót thương con; mở lượng hải hà xóa tội con đã phạm. Xin rửa con sạch hết lỗi lầm và tội lỗi con xin Ngài thanh tẩy. R.

A clean heart create for me, O God,
and a steadfast spirit renew within me.
Cast me not out from your presence,
and your Holy Spirit take not from me.R.

O Lord, open my lips,
and my mouth shall proclaim your praise.
My sacrifice, O God, is a contrite spirit;
a heart contrite and humbled, O God, you will not spurn.R.

Lạy Chúa Trời, xin mở miệng con, cho con cất tiếng ngợi khen Ngài. Lạy Thiên Chúa, tế phẩm dâng Ngài là tâm hồn thống hối; một tấm lòng thống hối và khiêm nhường, lạy Thiên Chúa, Ngài sẽ chẳng khinh chê.R.

Twenty-third Sunday in Ordinary Time-C (September 8, 2019)

A.  Introduction

a)      To the Holy Mass

Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ,
Good morning!
Welcome to Saint Dominic’s Parish Church for the Sunday Holy Mass celebration.  As we celebrate the XXIII Sunday in Ordinary Time, Christ plainly tells His audience of the conditions which they should meet in order to follow Him on His missionary journey.   Those who wish to work for God’s Kingdom should detach themselves from selfishness and those who really want to join in His saving project should wisely ponder on many and different aspects so as to be surely successful and fruitful.
We pray in this Holy Mass for those living in the consecrated life to be faithful to their commitment to serving God and neighbor without any reserve.
Please all stand to sing the entrance hymn.
b)     To the Readings

- First Reading: Wis 9:13-18b:

Human beings are limited even in knowing things on earth.  God alone knows everything because He is the Master of the universe and Creator of humanity.

- Second Reading: Phil 9-10.12-17:

Saint Paul urges Christians to show respect for and love of those of humble social status, aware that they were also saved by Christ as we all were.

a) Entrance: ES #122: “Now Is the Time”

b) Responsorial Psalm: Ps 90:3-4, 5-6, 12-13, 14-17 (see EM page 211)

R. In every age, O Lord, you have been our refuge.
Đ. Lạy Chúa, trải qua bao thế hệ, Ngài vẫn là nơi chúng con trú ẩn.

You turn man back to dust,
saying, “Return, O children of men.”
For a thousand years in your sight
are as yesterday, now that it is past,
or as a watch of the night.
R. In every age, O Lord, you have been our refuge.

You make an end of them in their sleep;
the next morning they are like the changing grass,
Which at dawn springs up anew,
but by evening wilts and fades.
R. In every age, O Lord, you have been our refuge.
Ngài cuốn đi, chúng chỉ là giấc mộng;
như cỏ đồng trổi mọc ban mai,
nở hoa vươn mạnh sớm ngày,
chiều về ủ rũ tàn phai chẳng còn.

Teach us to number our days aright,
that we may gain wisdom of heart.
Return, O LORD! How long?
Have pity on your servants!
R. In every age, O Lord, you have been our refuge.
Xin dạy chúng con đếm tháng ngày mình sống,
ngõ hầu tâm trí được khôn ngoan.
Lạy CHÚA! Ngài trở lại, Ngài đợi đến bao giờ?
Xin chạnh lòng thương xót những tôi tớ Ngài đây!

Fill us at daybreak with your kindness,
that we may shout for joy and gladness all our days.
And may the gracious care of the LORD our God be ours;
prosper the work of our hands for us!
Prosper the work of our hands!
R. In every age, O Lord, you have been our refuge.
Xin cho chúng con được vui hưởng lòng nhân hậu Chúa, là Thiên Chúa chúng con;
việc tay chúng con làm xin Ngài củng cố!
Xin củng cố việc tay chúng con làm!
