Twenty-Second Sunday in Ordinary Time—C (August 28, 2016)

A.     Introduction

a)      To the Holy Mass

Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ,
Good morning!
Welcome to Saint Dominic’s Parish Church for the Sunday Holy Mass celebration on the twenty-second week in the Ordinary Time, Year C.
The Gospel message for this Sunday tells us to show true humility—meaning to say, to be humble from inside, from the heart, in dealing with people, aware that God alone deserves all glory, praise and honor because He is the Lord of heaven and earth, the Master of history, the Savior of humankind.
People love social status, wealth and fame too much that they often dispute, fight and kill one another.  However, only when we are evaluated by God, can we be proud of who we really are.
This Sunday, we pray for the following two important intentions: first, we pray for Miss Therese Lilian Stephani Lie who is about to receive the three Sacraments of Christian Initiation, namely Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist.  May she feel happy to become a sister of the family of God’s children and proud of her new life in Christ Jesus, the Lord of all and Savior of humanity.
Today we also thank the Lord God for the 11th foundation anniversary of Saint Dominic’s Church.  May the God shower His abundant blessings on those who come into His House of prayer for worship and thanksgiving.
Please all stand for the entrance hymn.

b)     To the Readings

-          First Reading: Sir 3:17-18.20.28-29

People really love those who know their own strengths and weaknesses because it is much easier to work with those who are humble.

-          Second Reading:

There will be good harmony of peace, humility when people celebrate a big gathering in God's Kingdom where Jesus appears as the Mediator between God and humanity.
